The Human Rights Watch International Film Festival has a variety of offerings this year related to Middle East politics and the US war in Iraq including To See If I'm Smiling, about women in the Israeli army serving in the Occupied Territories; Deadly Playground, about the effects of unexploded cluster bombs in Lebanon; USA vs. Al-Arian, about a Palestinian-American professor rounded up under the Patriot Act; The Recruiter, about a US Army recruiter working in rural Louisiana; This Way Up, about a senior center in Jerusalem whose staff and visitors slowly get cut off by the separation wall, and more.
